Our Rockhampton hosts have organised dinner at the Red Lion Hotel.
Thursday
Starting with a training paddle on the Fitzroy River at the Rockhampton Fiyzroy Rowing Club. Arrive at 9am to unload and join the boats. Crews will be mixed or actual race crews if you have the numbers. After the training paddle, we will split and reload the boats.
Lunch is at The Great Western Hotel and then the convoy will continue to Emerald.
Travelers will need to book Thursday night in Emerald. A Convoy dinner is planned at a local pub.
Friday
The next morning the convoy will stop and row on Fairbairn Dam outside Emerald on the Ngoa River (ETA 9 am). The Fairbairn Dam is the size of two Sydney Harbours when full and is home to one of Australia's richest inland irrigation schemes as well as providing water to surrounding coal mines. Boats will be joined to allow a mix of rowers to have a row before packing up (ETD 11:30 am). Lunch is in Alpha with a BBQ hosted by the Alph Show Society.
The Convoy then departs for Barcaldine arriving mid-afternoon.
Monday
The convoy will hit the road for Brisbane early Monday morning. It is around 12 hours to Toowoomba where we will have dinner at the Royal Hotel at 6.30pm.
