It takes approximately 13 hours to drive to Longreach from Brisbane, 7.5 hours from Rockhampton, and 7.5 hours from Townsville.

Rail

The Spirit of the Outback travels between Brisbane and Longreach twice a week.

Accommodation

Rooms have been reserved at the Outback Hub (formerly, the Longreach Pastoral College), which are all single rooms with shared bathrooms. These rooms are $110 per person, per night including breakfast. Room bookings are now open through the shop. This is a great way for you to make sure you and your crew are all in the one spot, and all for a great price.

Buses are organised for airport transfers and travel to and from the regattas for those staying at the Outback Hub. If you are staying at a Longreach motel you are welcome to jump on the buses you will just need to get to the Outback Hub. Bus bookings are now open through the shop. Join the mailing list on the home page and we will let you know as soon as bookings open. We encourage everyone to use the accom and transport options organised to take the stress out of the event for your club exec.
